The Manage(Meant) Excellence Team Snapshot
Do you ever leave a 1:1 realizing you forgot something important you meant to follow up on?
Or struggle to remember who mentioned wanting a promotion, whose workload you've been meaning to check on, or what you promised someone three weeks ago? You want to know your people, support their growth, and follow through on what matters to them. But when you're managing an entire team, that's a lot of information to keep in your head.
Team Snapshot gives you one place to organize what you know about your people, keep track of your commitments, and manage your team like you actually know them.
- Struggling to keep track of everything happening across your team? See important information at a glance, including tenure, upcoming milestones, overdue 1:1s, open commitments, workload, skills, and growth goals.
- Want to remember what matters to each person? Keep individual profiles with strengths, career interests, development areas, management preferences, and important context from your conversations.
- Ever promised to follow up on something and forgotten? Use the Manager Action Tracker to capture commitments, introductions, next steps, and the things you said you'd do.
- Having great development conversations but struggling to turn them into action? Use the Growth & Opportunity Planner to connect employee interests and goals with meaningful opportunities and your own follow-through.
- Wish you could walk into every 1:1 more prepared? Quickly revisit important context, previous discussions, and outstanding actions so you're not starting from scratch.
- Want to spot patterns before they become problems? Get a clearer picture of workload, development needs, upcoming milestones, and where your attention may be needed.
- You manage a team and regularly think, "I know they told me this. Where did I write it down?"
- You inherited a team and are trying to understand years of context quickly
- You manage 4–15 people and feel like the amount of information you're carrying about them has outgrown your notes
- You want to have better 1:1s, growth conversations, and follow-through without building an elaborate system from scratch
- Or you simply want to be the kind of manager who remembers what matters to people
Includes two versions of Team Snapshot:
Offline Browser Dashboard: An interactive dashboard with individual employee profiles, team-level insights, and action tracking.
Excel Edition: A simpler spreadsheet-based version for organizing and maintaining team information.
Both versions are private by design. No subscriptions, accounts, logins, or cloud databases. Your information stays with you.
You don't need to remember every detail about every person. You need a way to make sure the important things don't get lost.
Heads up: The browser version opens in any modern browser — just double-click the HTML file and changes save automatically. The Excel version opens in any spreadsheet app. No internet required. Licensed for single-user personal use.
I used this tool this week to track my one-on-one commitments — love this! I am going to build out the capacity section next. I love having so many aspects that make up my team's health accessible in one place.
How to Actually Have a Hard Conversation
How do I actually have hard conversations?
Not theoretically. Not in a textbook. If you manage people, you have to get really comfortable being uncomfortable — in real life, when emotions are high, stakes are real, and you're expected to handle it well. This guide is your answer.
A practical, no-fluff framework for the conversations most managers avoid — or handle poorly.
- A simple, repeatable framework (C.L.E.A.R.) to guide real conversations
- Entry sentences and micro-scripts for every step — so you're not scrambling in the moment
- A way to lead with clarity without sounding harsh
- Tools to navigate emotion (yours and theirs) without losing control of the conversation
- Common-scenario playbooks (performance decline, resetting expectations, tension, direct feedback, and more)
- Clear ways to close the loop so things actually change
- Managers who avoid difficult conversations (and know it's costing them)
- Managers who have the conversations… but nothing actually changes
- High performers who got promoted but were never taught how to lead people
- Anyone who has ever thought: 'I just wish someone would tell me exactly what to say.'
You'll stop circling the issue. You'll stop overthinking every word. And you'll start having conversations that are clear, grounded, human, and actually effective.

Team Change Impact Planner
You've been told your team is impacted by the change. This helps you figure out what that actually means.
Most change impact assessments stop at the department, role, or stakeholder-group level. But managers still have to answer the harder questions: Who on my team is actually affected? What will change in their day-to-day work? Where will new workload, confusion, handoffs, or skill gaps show up? What do I need to do as their manager? And what do I need from the change team or leadership to support them well? The Team Change Impact Planner is an 8-tab Excel workbook that helps managers translate an organizational change into the real impact on their people and their team's work.
Stop asking managers to "support the change" without helping them understand what they are supporting. A project may know that a team is highly impacted. That does not automatically tell the manager what will be different for the eight people they lead. This workbook gives managers a private thinking space to work through the change at the level where it will actually be experienced. Assess what changes for each person. Identify the team processes, responsibilities, handoffs, workload, and expectations that may need to shift. Decide what actions you need to take. Then document what you need from the organization before those gaps become adoption problems. For change managers, it also creates a much better conversation with impacted managers. Instead of asking, "How is your team feeling about the change?" you can get structured input about what is changing, where risks are emerging, and what support managers actually need.
- 8 guided tabs that take you from understanding the change to building a team-level response: Start Here, Change Overview, Individual Team Impact, Team Ripple Effects, Actions & Org Support, Support & Escalation, Team Change Plan, and Dashboard
- Individual impact assessment for up to 35 employees so you can move beyond generic "high, medium, low" impact and understand what is actually changing in each person's work
- Team ripple-effect analysis to uncover changes in workload, handoffs, responsibilities, decision-making, processes, skills, and dependencies
- Manager action planning to identify what you need to communicate, clarify, coach, adjust, reinforce, or escalate
- Organizational support planning so managers can clearly identify what they need from the change team, leadership, HR, IT, or other partners
- Formula-driven dashboard that summarizes key impacts, risks, support needs, and escalations without exposing private working notes
- Worked example using a CloudCRM migration and team of eight, so you can see every tab completed before starting your own
- Branded PDF quick-start guide so change managers can hand the tool directly to people managers with minimal explanation
- Excel-native functionality including dropdowns, formulas, conditional formatting, and linked navigation with no macros, login, or web platform required
- Change managers who need a practical way to equip managers to assess team-level impact and provide better information back to the change effort
- People managers and leaders responsible for helping employees through a change but who have never been given a structured way to think through what the change means for their team
- HR and People partners who want managers to have a consistent, work-focused way to identify support needs without documenting sensitive personal information
- Anyone leading a team through a system, process, structure, technology, policy, or operating-model change
Walk into the change knowing who is impacted, what will actually be different, where problems are likely to surface, what actions are yours to take, and what you need the organization to provide — so your team is not left to figure it out alone.
Heads up: Confidentiality by design: use initials or roles and record work impact rather than HR-sensitive personal detail. Single-user license — not for resale or redistribution.
